Based on Leslie Kitashima-Gray's mother's experience in a Japanese American Internment Camp during World War II
Tsuki, a young Japanese American girl from Los Angeles is taken with her family to a camp in Colorado. When the camp authorities decree that all graduating junior high schoolers must wear green to the ceremony, Tsuki decides to wear her sister's pink dress to prove she is not an "ant", but an individual. This poignant puppet presentation about an important episode of American history is accessible for even young children.
